Preparing for a Consultation
PLEASE READ THIS TO ITS ENTIRETY BEFORE BOOKING
What can I expect from a Feng Shui Consultation?

A Feng Shui consultation is a deep dive into how your space can better support your life goals. I practice Black Sect Tantric Buddhist (BTB) Feng Shui, which blends ancient wisdom with modern applications to create powerful transformations in your environment and life. A consultation of your home or workspace will involve me reading your home or office floor plan and suggesting physical and energetic adjustments based on the changes and improvements you are wishing to make in your life.

After booking, you'll receive an intake form to share your goals, challenges, and aspirations. You'll need to submit this form along with a floor plan and photos/video of your space at least 9 days before our session. This allows me to spend several hours studying your space and preparing personalized recommendations.

Personalized recommendations may include strategic furniture placement, adding and removing specific elements (such as plants, mirrors, colors, etc), intentional clutter clearing, energetic space clearing and blessings, personal qi adjustments, and transcendental adjustments (esoteric practices)

During our session, we'll explore your space using various traditional tools (which I will teach you about along the way) including:
-
The Bagua Map (energy mapping of your space)
-
Yin/Yang Theory
-
The 5 Elements
-
9 Star Ki (personal astrology reading)
-
I-Ching divination
Think of me as an energetic therapist for your home rather than an interior designer or organizer. While we may discuss aesthetics and organization, our primary focus will be on aligning your space's energy with your life goals.

Consultation Options:
-
In-person: Available in East Bay and San Francisco
-
Virtual: Available worldwide via Zoom
-
Custom travel arrangements available upon request
Note: For travel beyond East Bay/San Francisco, please email me directly to discuss cost and arrangements.

Prices vary depending on remote or in-person consultations. All details about my services can be found HERE.

What do I need to provide for the consult?
Please read this over before booking. Within 48 hours of booking, I will send you an intake form. Please note that I will need your intake form and floorplan submitted at least 9 days prior to the consultation, so plan accordingly.
Here’s everything I need from you:
ONE: Floorplan
Your floor plan is essential for a thorough Feng Shui analysis. Please provide a digital copy for each floor of your home or office with your intake form.
What to Include:
-
All spaces under your roof (including garages and storage areas)
-
Attached decks/balconies/outdoor living areas
-
Clearly marked front door
-
All walls, doors (showing swing direction), and windows
-
Stairs, toilets, sinks, and shower/baths
-
Key furniture: beds, desks, and stove
-
Optional but helpful: other furniture placement
-
Your signature (this connects your energy to the plan)
Acceptable Formats:
-
Builder's plans (ideal if you have them)
-
Hand-drawn plans (scanned)
-
Digital plans created using online tools
Don't worry if you're not an architect! A thoughtful hand-drawn plan works perfectly well. I've provided some simple tips for creating your floor plan after at the end of this page.

TWO: Intake Form
To prepare for your consultation, you'll need to complete a detailed intake form at least 9 days before our session. This thoughtful questionnaire helps me understand you, your space, and your goals.
The intake form includes:
-
Questions about you, your space, and your aspirations
-
Photos and video of your space
-
Your floor plan upload
-
Estimated completion time: 15-45 minutes
This advance preparation allows me to deeply understand your needs and create personalized recommendations that will best serve you during our consultation.

Tip: Set aside quiet time to complete the intake form. The more detail you provide, the more tailored your consultation will be.

THREE: The 9 Red Envelope Exchange Tradition
An essential part of the Black Sect Tantric Buddhist (BTB) Feng Shui tradition is the sacred exchange of red envelopes. This practice honors and protects the wisdom being shared, creating a powerful energetic exchange between teacher and recipient.

In my training, I have learned transcendental adjustments—special Feng Shui magical rituals that go beyond physical placement and work on an energetic level. When I share these adjustments with you, I request that you provide 9 red envelopes, each containing at least $1 in cash. This is a long-standing tradition in BTB Feng Shui, ensuring that divine knowledge is honored and received with respect. After our consultation, the envelopes undergo ritual to bless the work we did together where I will sleep with them under my pillow and then keep them on my altar for 9 days. The cash contained within these envelopes is separate from the consultation fee and will always then be donated to charitable causes.

How the Red Envelope Exchange Works
Not every consultation will include transcendental adjustments, especially first-time sessions, as we often have plenty to work on without them. Because of this, you have options:

Option 1: Prepare Your 9 Red Envelopes in Advance
-
Note: Whether or not I share a transcendental adjustment, the envelopes still serve as a sacred energetic exchange for our session that will help protect and guide the flow of the consult.
-
If you’d like to have the possibility of receiving transcendental adjustments during your consultation, you can provide me with 9 red envelopes beforehand.
-
These can be any type of red envelope (you can even make them yourself!).
-
If we’re meeting in person, you can bring them to our session.
-
If we’re meeting on Zoom, you’ll need to mail them to me before our consultation (I’ll provide my address after booking).

Option 2: Provide the Red Envelopes Later
-
If you choose not to provide red envelopes before our session, but a transcendental adjustment becomes relevant, I will briefly describe it to you.
-
If you’d like to receive the adjustment, you can mail me the 9 red envelopes before our follow-up call, and I will share the adjustment with you at that time. If I do not receive the red envelopes before the follow-up, I will not share the adjustment(s).
Either way, when you provide red envelopes, take time to prepare them in a sincere way. Think about your intention of what you hope to accomplish from your consult. As you place the cash in each one, visualize your ideal outcomes and imagine all of the information flowing to you with ease.

If you have any questions about the red envelope tradition, please reach out via the Contact Form.

*Floor Plan Drawing tips: I recommend using graph paper, measuring tape, a ruler and pencil to do it by hand, having one foot equal to one square on the graph paper. It doesn’t need to be exactly to scale, but the more accurate the better. On an iPad with an Apple Pencil you can create it in Notability on graph paper. There are also other apps and programs out there, use what you know. I can answer any questions about how to create a floorplan if needed. Do your best with the skills and tools you have, it doesn’t need to be overly complicated!
